Brett Telinger has hand-shaped and glassed Gum Surfboards since it sparked into existence more than fifteen years ago. He learned his craft from a Gulf Coaster who’d been surfing and shaping since the early sixties. This seed of crucial shaping knowledge was echoed in his exploration of retrograde designs. Today Brett mostly focuses on designing boards for people riding waves in less than perfect conditions: mellow peelers, windy afternoons,or tight, pitching beach breaks. A board for every wave the coasts of Florida have to offer. With that in mind, all Gum Surfboards are shaped by Brett Telinger with careful consideration of the customer’s information and desired outcome.
